"Lips Are Moving"
Too Faced melted is the perfect combination of lip stick, gloss, and a stain. I don't find myself needing to reapply or that it dries my lips out too much. This color is Peony, but there are so many colors to choose from! I got this at Sephora.
E.L.F. has been very hit or miss for me, BUT I am in love with their moisturizing lip stick. It has great pigment and is so hydrating. I would recommend this to anyone!
I have been wanting to do some reviews on E.L.F. products so that will come soon!

"Honor"
Tomorrow I am giving a Special Occasion Speech... Although I am nervous, I am excited to brag a little about a few amazing women in my life. I am giving honor to the women from my church that have guided me and been a support group since middle school. They have not only been a friend, but a role model and mentor. I would never be the person I am today without them (and of course my parents).
They have made me FEARLESS and HOPEFUL when life is rough.
Go out and thank those women in your life that have selflessly impacted you. They are blessings.

"Keep Your Love On"
It's been a busy week with classes and work but, last Sunday was perfect for seeing some church family and fixing dinner for our Alpha group! Couldn't believe how many people, of all ages, came. This headband was from prom last year, purchased at M2. I have my favorite monogram boots on with a oversized, stripe shirt from TJ Max.
I did find some time to read my new favorite addiction, Keep Your Love On by Danny Silk. It's a great insight on connection and communication in the relationships you have with others. Our Young Adult group at church will be meeting and discussing starting Feburary. A friend of mine and I cannot wait. If you haven't already, pick up this good read!

Preppy Gone Wild
I have always marched to my own drum when it comes to fashion. I love anything from Boho and Preppy, to Country and wearing my Tony Llama boots (Even if I spend most my time in workout wear). After the start of my first summer semester of college, I lost interest in the tasteless, High School look and fell in love with the classy, preppy look.
My mom and I always say "monogram everything"! Etsy is our favorite place to find affordable monogram clothes and accessories. I'm obsessed- from my monogram baseball hat, variety of pocket tees and tank tops, stickers, tumbler, and so much more.
Essentials to a preppy style:
1. Anything and everything monogram. Don't forget it.
2. Classic black handbag and clutch
3. Sperrys
4. Big- flashy watch and chunky jewelry
5. Fur /or puffy vest
6. Button down
7. Booties
8. Rain boots
9. Southern tees
10. Pearls
My favorite brands have to be Marley&Lilly, Micheal Kors, Banana Republic, JCrew, Louis Vittion, and Tory Burch. No- I do not and cannot afford to buy all of this for myself. The high brand names are all thanks to my Grandma. In addition to what my grandma so willingly passes down to us, I try to find great deals for the brand names I love. Between JCrew outlet, TJ Max, and shopping those sales, I always find great deals. (Coupons and timing is key!)
In no way does this mean that I strictly buy from these stores. We all love those good finds at Forever21. If you say you don't, we know you are lying.
XOXO

The Start
I come from a long line of creative people. My dads side of the family is all very artistic. From my cousin selling paintings and her own wallpaper designs, my great uncles' writing, to my dads handiness to make and fix anything he sets his mind to. On the other hand, my moms side is creative in another light. My grandma was a hairdresser, and her daughters are very fashionable and talented when it comes to decorating. Seeing where I fall isn't very hard. I never really struck and interest in painting or sketching. But, I've always been passionate about fashion, writing, photography, and modeling. I feel like in these ways I can fully express that I am my own person.
My grandmother, who I called "Ginga", passed before I was in middle school. But she left a letter for my first grade teacher to give to me when I graduated. Although the I had thought about it many times over the years, my teacher had retired and I never expected for the letter to make it to me. To my surprise, I received the letter halfway through my senior year. Enclosed was a friendship pin. She wrote that even though we were family, she will always be my friend. Who would have known that years after her passing, praying for a sign from her that she is proud and knowing in your heart you would do anything to have one more conversation, that I would have been so blessed to hear her one more time. Although she may not be here, she continues to motivate and encourage me every day.
This is why I started Ginga and Gabrielle.
Love yourself. Always seek hope. Never try to be anyone else.
